DeMarre Carroll Hosts Pediatric Liver Transplant Survivor at Brooklyn Nets Game

On October 31, DeMarre Carroll and the Carroll Family Foundation capped off Liver Awareness Month by hosting 6-year-old pediatric liver transplant survivor Sammy Kass at the Barclays Center for Sammy’s first NBA game. Family members accompanying Sammy included his mother and organ donor, Dara Kass, who gave a segment of her liver to her son four years ago — a rare occurrence with only about 4 percent of liver transplants nationwide involving living donors.
